did no one on the west coast thirst for the oregon state project? it was liberal since mid-season when the school fired jay john.it looks like the next head coach of oregon state will be craig robinson, the chair coach at brown in the ivy leagued with. craig robinson has done a very good grind in his two seasons at brown, but he was getting most of the attention for being illinois senator and democratic presidential anticipating, barack obama’s brother-in-law.this comes as a complete stunner. robinson is from chicago, he’s not till hell freezes over coached anywhere west of the mississippi. heck, he took most of the 90s off from coaching to construct his somewhat from princeton and mba in assets from the university of chicago to work in the banking and financial industry.while coaches comparable to iupui’s ron hunter, in heat bennett (st. mary’s) and account grier (san diego) all ran from the consign, there was some other interest. portland state’s ron bone seemed to want it and southern mississippi’s larry eustachy tried to get an appraisal.it isn’t necessarily a bad hire, but it seems like a strange one. forget the lack of any connection to the west coast. robinson is an ivy league grad. his major helpmate coaching profession latest to coaching brown was for northwestern. it’s the big 10, but not exactly the breeding scope of coaches. how he recruits to corvallis will be a very curious thing.permalink email this comments
